Our annual summer event is all about training, deep learning, connecting and hanging out together as a community! The name says it all: In addition to an extensive dance training, we indulge ourselves with a well-deserved, sociable barbecue in the studio's garden on Saturday evening 💃🌞🥂🥗🍗

This year, we finally welcome back Kami Liddle from the USA and she will teach an exciting 8 hour open-level intensive, hoooray!

✩ KAMI LIDDLE 8-HOUR INTENSIVE: OF LINES AND FLUIDITY ✩

Her style is all about fluidity, precision, graceful lines and expression. Kami brings us an exciting program consisting of three workshops to refine your technique and foundation, find your natural flow, feel effortless and grounded, as well as intentional in your expression. This intensive is designed open-level, so you are welcome to join no matter where you are in your dance journey.

SATURDAY

10.30–12.30 WEIGHTLESS – Explore fluidity, balance, deep listening, and grounding through movement.

Designed to evoke the sensation of suspension and flow in dance. This experience invites participants to release the pull of gravity and explore transitions that feel seamless, buoyant, and rooted. Drawing from her foundation in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Belly Dance, and Fusion, Kami blends techniques that cultivate body awareness, agility, and expressive freedom. Weightless is about finding the in-between moments—where movement feels both anchored and airborne, deliberate and effortless.

12.30–13.30 LUNCH BREAK

13.30–16.30 PRECISION & FLOW – Sharpen your technique, refine your isolations, and strengthen your foundation.

Designed to support Fusion dancers in building strength, clarity, and control. Through targeted conditioning, we activate and engage the muscles essential for dynamic movement. From there, we move into technique drills that explore both sharp, percussive isolations and fluid, continuous motion—bridging power with grace. Layering challenges your coordination and deepens your understanding of movement pathways. This workshop is ideal for dancers looking to refine their technical foundation and receive personalized feedback in a focused, supportive environment.

FROM 17.00 BARBECUE TIME!

Some salads, bread and drinks on offer. Please bring whatever you would like to put on the grill for yourself and maybe some drink that you like. We will clink glasses, eat, laugh, hangout and relax together in the studio garden :-)

SUNDAY

11.00–14.00 FROM SHOULDER TO FINGERTIP WITH KAMI LIDDLE – Refine your lines, express with intention, and embody the art of graceful control.

Dedicated to the power and nuance of upper body expression. We’ll spend three immersive hours refining the details that elevate arm work from functional to captivating. Through focused technique, body alignment, and isolation drills, we’ll explore the mechanics of the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, and fingers—building control, precision, and fluidity. We’ll then bring those tools into motion, working with new combinations and a short choreography that weaves expressive arm pathways into the body’s natural flow.

Perfect for dancers ready to deepen their awareness and bring more intention and elegance into their movement vocabulary.

ABOUT KAMI LIDDLE

Kami is an award-winning dancer who has decades of experience teaching movement based classes. She is a world-reowned contemporary belly dance artist whose workshops & performances have been hosted in over 30 countries. She is the director of The Gold Star Dance Company, a San Francisco based fusion belly dance company, and creator of the Krysalis Dance program. You can read more here or follow her on instagram.

What is the refund policy?

All registrations are binding, non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another course/workshop. The terms and conditions of Pittoreska Dance & Movement apply.

Which payments do you accept?

Our accounts are in Swiss Francs. Please make sure to cover all conversion rates and transfer fees so we receive the full amount in Swiss Francs on our account. Apart from bank transfer, we accept Paypal (pittoreskabellydance@gmail.com) and Revolut (please contact info@pittoreska.com).

Can I pay by instalments?

Payment by instalments is only possible for total amounts over CHF 300. If this causes you difficulties, please reach out to us.

Is my registration transferable to another person?

If you are unable to attend, you can transfer your place to another participant, which is your responsibility. Please contact info@pittoreska.com and in case there is a waiting list, you will be put in touch with the next person on the list so you can process the transfer directly with each other. Once you have sold your spot, please send an email to info@pittoreska.com (cc: the new participant) confirming that you have officially transferred your spot and providing us their contact information.

What about accommodation and parking in St. Gallen?

The city centre is very small and everything is within walking distance. There are several car parks in the city centre, but they are relatively expensive. The outdoor parking spaces in the neighbourhood are cheaper, but usually limited in time. You can buy daily or monthly permits for unlimited parking in certain zones. You can find more information here. 

Hotels are relatively expensive in Switzerland and it's a good idea to check out Airbnb options. Dancers stayed at the TouchBed City Apartments before, which they found highly recommendable. To help you find your way around St. Gallen, we have created a map of all sorts of places we found useful.
